About Us

Casa Capo Furniture was founded in 1916 in the city of Pinar Del Rio, Cuba by Simon Capo . It quickly became one of the major furniture companies on the island. In the first years of the Castro revolution, all of the businesses and properties of Jose Capo (then owner, president and Simon's son) were nationalized by the government. Having to flee into exile with his family to Miami in 1963 with basically only the shirts on their backs, Jose had to begin a new life in a new country. After much efforts and work, Jose was able to reopen anew with his wife and 3 kids in 1964. After his demise in 1990, his son’s Rene and Luis kept on the family tradition are still actively involved in the management of the business today. It has become an institution in the Miami furniture market.
